About Us N

PIR SULTAN ABDAL DC is a non-profit organization founded to serve the Alevi community in the DMV area (Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC). Our mission is to promote the values of Alevi culture both within and outside of our community by connecting with groups and organizations that aim to broaden the horizons of their members. We strive to improve access for Turkish-speaking communities to welfare services provided by voluntary groups and statutory agencies. Our organization will establish networking opportunities with such service providers and offer space and support for small community groups and youth clubs. We facilitate recreation and leisure activities, encourage and motivate self-help groups, and work to instill confidence and mutual respect within our community.
